Senator Debbie Clary is currently serving her first term in the North Carolina Senate. Previous service includes seven terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives.
Senator Clary is a former broadcaster in Shelby, NC, where she owned and operated WADA Radio. Currently, she is President of Millennium Marketing Group, Inc. Sen. Clary’s interest in government service initiated from her work in Talk Radio.
Since beginning her work in the North Carolina State House, and now in the NC Senate, Debbie has been honored to be the recipient of awards from a diverse group of North Carolina agencies.
Clary has been honored on four occasions with the Home Care “Hero” Award from the North Carolina Home Care Association.
She has been recognized by AARP for making home care, instead of institutionalization, a priority in North Carolina and for her focus on improving the quality of life of our senior citizens.
In addition, Sen. Clary is also a recipient of the Adult Day Care Associations highest award of recognition for her work toward making Adult Day Care available throughout North Carolina.
At the other end of the age spectrum, Sen. Clary was the lead sponsor of the Graduated Drivers License Law for which she has received many honors and takes pride in knowing the law is saving the lives of teens across the state.
The Senator also works on law enforcement issues…and has been honored for three terms as the Law Enforcement Legislator of the Year.
